Going Home

One of my favourite flights is the 5 hour pilgrimage from New South Wales to Western Australia. Obviously not the flight itself, who likes being in a metal box for extended periods of time? But being in Western Australia is great. My Family and old friends are back there. Along with that I think that Western Australia is one of the most beautiful places in the world.

 Kings Park

Kings Park Botanic Garden is a beautiful 400 hectare garden with an amazing view of the city at night. It has over 3000 species of native fauna and has an international reputation for scientific research, leading horticulture, conservation and public education. It’s an absolutely beautiful spot to have a barbecue or just spend the day. There is also a war memorial that gets very busy on ANZAC day.

Cottesloe beach

I’ve always said that by being from Western Australia I have been spoilt by the beaches. Cottesloe is one of the most popular beaches in Western Australia. Another of my favourite things about going over to Western Australia is seeing the beautiful sunset over the beach.

There are beautiful wineries down the southern side of Western Australia and fishing towns up the northern coast. I am from a small fishing town a 6 hour drive north from Perth called Dongara. It’s the kind of beautiful place where everyone knows everyone else and there was a huge uproar when there was to be a round-about put in (it was put in anyway, but there still aren’t any traffic lights!)

If you haven’t already give WA a go!
