Valetta - Malta Capital

Valetta – the capital of Malta.

HELLO AGAIN WONDERERS! Isaac G here!

Valetta’s Baroque architecture dates back to the 16th century. The capital city was listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1980. Valetta played a key role in World War II as it was strategically placed as a dock for the English. Subsequently, the city suffered bombings during the war which destroyed countless monuments and buildings.

The harbour of Valetta features stunning views and often houses massive cruise liners. The harbour was fortified many years ago as a measure against invasion. Huge sandstone r
etaining walls provide the city with a valorous personality.

If you happen to be docked in Malta, I suggest you purchase tickets to the ‘Malta Experience’ in Valetta. You will watch an interesting video detailing the history of Malta as it was overrun by the Greeks, Carthaginians, Romans, Byzantines, Arabs, Normans, Spanish and more. Your general admission ticket will also include a tour of the old hospital and the underground passageways that connect the city.

Malta is a majestic country which boasts crystal clear water along it’s sandstone facade. It is definitely a MUST SEE destination.
